Day 2: More Than Blessings
Day 2: More Than Blessings
Reading:
Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
Psalm 42:1-2
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
Devotional: "I'm caught up in Your presence, and I just want to sit here at Your feet." These words capture a profound spiritual truth: our greatest need isn't God's blessings, it's God Himself. Too often we approach prayer with our agenda, forgetting that intimacy with Jesus surpasses any gift He could give. Like Mary at Jesus' feet, we must choose the better portion. When we shift from wanting what God can do to wanting who God is, transformation happens. Jesus doesn't owe us anything, yet He offers us everything Himself. Today, resist the temptation to treat God as a divine vending machine. Instead, simply sit in His presence, declaring, "I just want You."
Reflection: What would change if you pursued God's presence more than His presents?
Weekly Challenge: This week, set aside 15 minutes daily to simply be in God's presence without an agenda. Tell Him, "I just want You," and listen for His voice.
